Tikal loves peace and chao, but her father took them away from her. Also, Tikal hates fighting of any kind. She is said to be the right hand woman of justice.
Tikal's story started when she went to the shrine of the Master Emerald near her village, the guardian then spoke to her by the water, from what I can tell. He allowed her presence because she was peaceful and liked the Chao that lived near the shrine. When she heard the her father was going to take the seven Chaos Emeralds from the shrine she tried to convince him otherwise, knowing that pwoer corupts, but to no avail. Tikal then went to the shrine and tried to convince the guardian there to move the shrine, but he was as stubborn as her dad, so she accepted his reasons and tried to convice her dad not to take the emeralds. Alas, when her dad and his warriors went to the shrine he killed or injured the chao there; I'm not sure. Chaos, the guardian of the Emerald didn't like that, and became very angry. In his rage he used the Master to transform into Perfect Chaos.
Tikal couldn't take the destruction so she sealed her soul and Chaos into the Master Emerald. When the Emerald shattered, Chaos was released and Eggman tried to use Chaos to destroy the world and build his world in its ruins as he couldn't gain control of Earth then. Tikal appeared to Sonic and Knuckles and guided them to stop Eggman.
After Chaos was calmed, Tikal showed him an eternal paradise where he could protect the chao like he always wanted.
