Knuckles is very stong and likes to be by himself, nor does he adapt that easily. Knuckles can also be found to be very gulliable, but don't try to trick him if you like your face not smashed in. He angers easily and when he finds out he's been duped, his anger rise ten times it's normal rate, this also is the same for when people try to steal the Master Emerald.
He was set out to guard the emerald day in and day out for a long time, this is not a task he relishes, or likes that much, but he takes his duty very seriously. He is skilled in the martial arts and is a renowned treasure hunter.
Knuckles was tricked by Eggman once, to hate Sonic, so he could take the Master Emerald. Knuckles found this out a little to late, but showed Sonic a way to get to Eggman and get the Master Emerald back. Later on, Knuckles got tricked again, once again by Eggman, so the schemeing Doctor could get rid of Sonic. When Knuckles found out this time, he punched Dr. Robotnik into next week. While Knuckles was gathering shards of the Master Emerald, Eggman told Knuckles that Sonic was after the shard too, so the blue one could have the Master Emeralds powers. Upon meeting Sonic Eggman took Sonic's Chaos Emeralds and told Knuckles that he had once again been duped. Knuckles showed Eggman that he wasn't taking being fooled a third time so nicely. He beat up Eggman's new thing for power, Chaos.
After the Master Emerald was broken a second time, Eggman didn't even try to trick Knuckles, the doctor had chaos emerald huntin on his mind. This left Knuckles with a new rival, Rouge, who was also after the Master Emerald shards. After their only real fight, Rouge gave Knuckles the Master Emerald shards she had collected, allowing Knuckles to finish putting the Master Emerald together. After the task was completed, he apologized to Rouge saying "I'm sorry if I hurt you."
